what is in my pocketess?

Russell finished knives this weekend.

I get involved in the process by telling Russell how the handle feels.  What is interesting about these two knives is that the larger one felt the best in my hand early in the process but at the end, the smaller one felt the best.  Which means that I get a new utility knife.

And this utility knife sits in my apron pockets.  With my tendency to wear aprons every where but work, this is a good thing.

I can do all the things in the kitchen that need a knife but using one of my working kitchen knives on does not make since.  Also, it means I have a knife when needed in other places.  It is a lovely thing.  It makes me smile.

All the straw bales are covered

Russell and I have been working on the Teahouse together.  He gets the cob mixed and I help apply it to the walls.  He finally got the scaffolding at a level where I can easily get into the loft to work on the wall.  I still have issues reaching the outside edge but he finishes that bit.

The straw bales are covered.

We are at the point of designing the roof.  We are going to put a reciprocal roof.  We need to even out the top edge a bit and also cover the straw bales just a bit more.  The cob in some places is very thin or stair stepped over the bales.

There are actually not that many resources on how to build a reciprocal roof but it is one of the strongest roofs out there.  We are coming up with ideas and Russell is very excited.

He also got to work on knives yesterday.

I would say that we had a good day.
