laughing at the comedy of errors of my day

My day was a comedy of errors.  I laughed so hard that I am exhausted.  The laughter was very much a choice though because the other option was to be angry and frustrated.  I just wanted to come home and work on my sweater dress.  The front piece is growing slowly.  I am almost half done.  So I listen to audio books and crochet.  Miss a boy.  Maybe that is a big part of the tired as well.  Or the exhaustion.

I am looking forward to mountains this coming weekend and needing a coat.  Maybe there will be tea and crochet.  I may bring this so my best friend can see it.  There is a 50/50 chance she will be joining.  She has not worked with alpaca yet and this is awfully soft.  The new stitch is working out well.  I am converting the knit pattern almost one to one at this point.  It is exciting.

More tea is needed.  Or maybe a glass of bubbly wine with the pizza I am making for dinner.

a shawl from Miss D

I finished the shawl for Miss D.  The color is called Weathered Frame and it reminds me of wood.  It is my simple shawl pattern but it gives me a lot of time to meditate and pray.

I made the border extra large and I really like the effect.

Miss D had seen this shawl in progress and just could not believe it.  I hope she likes it.  I have started the next one for another sister.  Two more to go.  Now, if I could just get addresses.  Or I am sending it to her father!  PaPaw will be so surprised to get a box for her!

We are having problems with our internet so posting is difficult.  I will keep trying but I may only have intermittent access.  Sigh . . .   That is life.

a too big hat for an expected small person

One of my co-worker's wife is expecting a small person in early September.  Since they are from Angola, I decided to make the expected small person a hat and some receiving blankets.

The blankets are still in the process of being made but the hat is done.  I know this hat is too big but by January it may fit better.  It is when it really gets cold here.

This expected person may make an early appearance so I am trying to get the rest of the present bits done this weekend.  It is a weekend of making gifts because I have to get ready for a wedding shower as well.  Now, if I only felt better!  Face is less sore but I still have no energy and my nose is stuffed and snotty.  Mabye there will be more energy tomorrow!

alpaca shawl

I had picked up some Whatcom county alpaca when we were at the mountain six weeks ago.  I picked up more this time.  Out came my little Turkish drop spindle.  All the fiber got spun and I created this shawl.  The edge is the last half of the last of Sunshine.

I have been wearing this at work.  It has been a pretty crappy week so far and the warmth and soft is comforting.  Hopefully, next week gets better.

the mitts that match the hat

I made some mitts out of the yarn from Sunshine as well.  I wished I had them at work today!  I was wearing my Sunshine sweater and still a bit cold.  July and wearing more wool in the office then I normal do in the winter.  That is air conditioning for you!

The funny thing about these mitts, is that when I put them on they are actually the same length.  The bottom has a bit of curve to it.  I think they will be fairly easy to type in.  I do think they need to end up at work.  Cold hands are just not a fun thing to have to work with.
