Within an hour of the mountain is one of my favorite local yarn shops. Well, it is really a yarn and fiber shop. When we were in Tennessee for my Beloved's Grandmother's funeral, the Aunts admired the sweater I made him. I knew I was going to finish a shawl soon so I asked for color choices. They poo pooed my question. So while I was at the yarn store, I picked up lace yarn for each. Each is MadelineTosh Prairie in a different color. Now the question is do I make one at a time and send it or make them all and send them as a batch. The thing is that the forever shawls take time.
I also got a new turkish drop spindle. This is a 15 gram weight and it is made out of reclaimed birch flooring. It spins like a dream. I am completely convinced that if you have fleeces to spin, you have to spin everyday. This is a nice way to make my spinning portable. Even in the house if I have a small boy in my lap. The Small Mister and my Beloved also picked out alpaca fiber and quivit fiber for me to spin. Maybe I will get the quivit spun in time for the summer season at work when I really need the hand mitts!
I should really be spinning now but I am crocheting while the Small Mister sleeps. It has been a day. Mine has not been so bad but I have been on the receiving end of spews for other peoples' bad day. Maybe I just need tea. I was told last night my tea light was low because I had a face like Dusty (from Planes) when he is determined. Obviously, facing life with determination means more tea is needed.
Yes, this is my life.
